Directions
Mix butter, sugar, vanilla and food coloring. Blend in flour and salt well with hands. If dough is dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons cream. Wrap a level tablespoon of dough around filling (cherry, date, nut, chocolate chips, etc). Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 – 15 minutes, until set but not brown. Cool. Dip tops in following icing:

- 1½ Cups sifted flour
- 1/8 Teaspoon salt
